Self Compassion

I find my best days are when I feel a sense of order within my schedule, my mind and my environment. To me, organization leads to creativity, compassion, a listening ear, empathy and production. Why? My mind can relax when I feel a sense of stillness. Stillness to me is peace and order. Well, like you, 2020 has had a great time laughing at my sense of peace and order. But, like you, most likely, I’ve had to reevaluate systems that create peace and order. Guess what, it’s not so much about peace and order, but being flexible to change, understanding and finding what works for me personally. Self compassion, in my words is building your own sense of peace and order, but allowing yourself the amount of compassion that leads to your best days.

Acceptance

Acceptance seeks understanding, truth, reflection, change, empathy, patience and grace.

Acceptance can be a challenge when we may disagree with another person’s, actions, views and overall being. Acceptance allows us to seek to agree or disagree. Acceptance isn’t weak, but strength when we are forced to accept the situation for what it is and decide our truth. Truth comes from how we choose to rewrite the ending by taking action. Empathy and grace for ourselves and others allow us to step out and make a change as small as it may be. Our choices contribute to a change for the better.

Truth is when we can can’t change a situation, we can change our attitude and adjust our thinking. Adjusting our thinking to contribute to a positive change takes a great deal of patience and reflection. Getting out of our own way and not getting stuck in our feelings. The will that our way isn’t the only way, but recognizing we are better together. Together we can accept our differences and learn with a little bit of grace, compassion and empathy.

Are you down with 3PP?

If you have to ask yourself this question, chances are whatever is being put in front of you isn’t worth your energy. Ain’t nobody got time for drama, especially in a pandemic. If you are like me, this “new normal” is draining even on a good day because our routines have changed drastically. I find myself reflecting on this question a lot lately. The more we feed into negative energy, the more it manifests and disturbs our own well being. The more we give power into what’s productive, peaceful and positive the happier we’ll be. That simple, keeping it peaceful, positive and productive in this pandemic as much as I can. If it’s not part of the 3Ps, keep it moving. Are you down with 3PP, yeah you know me!:)

Are we really in it together?

Keeping this short and simple because it is.

“We are in this together.” You’ve probably heard this recently from a well meaning person. Are we really in it together? It’s nice to say and think, but everyone’s situation is so different during these months.

When I think about it, what we can be “in together” is acceptance, grace and compassion. Honoring that everyone’s feelings, views, situations are different. Accepting that everyone has a vastly different opinion and embracing it with compassion and having grace to accept and not to judge. Sounds easy, right? It is, but it becomes complicated when ego gets in the way, but guess what that’s grace and compassion. Grace and compassion, not only for others, but yourself. We are in it together with a little bit of grace, compassion, love and acceptance.

What’s your perspective?

Is the glass half full or half empty? It’s all in perspective right?

I choose to see my glass as half full and as I mentioned the other day in my post about believing in my own honors; don’t doubt your successes, passions, recognition that you are given and certainly don’t neglect your honors. If you don’t see your own successes, how do you expect anyone else to see it! Time is precious, choose wisely.
