Be Your Own Competitor

What is the saying, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, water your own? It will always be greener on the other side if you are not tending to your own? I may of made that last part up, but how true if you aren’t tending to your own lawn, it will always be greener on the other side!

My Mom often told me, you can do your best, but you don’t know what the competition will be. Just work on you, that’s all you can do. True that Mom! Be your own competitor. If you constantly measure, compare and reflect on the competition you lose your focus. Be grateful for the opportunity and in her words just worry about yourself.

Realistic & Steady

When the road seems tough and you feel like you just can’t take one more step. Detour. Stay releastic, hard is ok, but giving up isn’t. Remain steady in your journey and don’t lose sight of your why and always find grace for yourself and others. jrs

Hope

Hope is the ship that sails even when the rain, wind, and storm turn fierce. Hope is a guiding light, but it’s up to us to keep it lit. Find it inside yourself to believe that a delay isn’t defeat, but a redirection. Redirection has a purpose even when the purpose isn’t clear in the moment. Sail the ship even when the shore is at a distance and remember growth and empowerment come outside of your comfort zone.

Self Compassion

I find my best days are when I feel a sense of order within my schedule, my mind and my environment. To me, organization leads to creativity, compassion, a listening ear, empathy and production. Why? My mind can relax when I feel a sense of stillness. Stillness to me is peace and order. Well, like you, 2020 has had a great time laughing at my sense of peace and order. But, like you, most likely, I’ve had to reevaluate systems that create peace and order. Guess what, it’s not so much about peace and order, but being flexible to change, understanding and finding what works for me personally. Self compassion, in my words is building your own sense of peace and order, but allowing yourself the amount of compassion that leads to your best days.

Are you down with 3PP?

If you have to ask yourself this question, chances are whatever is being put in front of you isn’t worth your energy. Ain’t nobody got time for drama, especially in a pandemic. If you are like me, this “new normal” is draining even on a good day because our routines have changed drastically. I find myself reflecting on this question a lot lately. The more we feed into negative energy, the more it manifests and disturbs our own well being. The more we give power into what’s productive, peaceful and positive the happier we’ll be. That simple, keeping it peaceful, positive and productive in this pandemic as much as I can. If it’s not part of the 3Ps, keep it moving. Are you down with 3PP, yeah you know me!:)
